This was our NYU sophomore project. We got a C in the class for not finishing it within the span of the semester, but two years later Tom and I had the movie done, and it was our entree into Hollywood.
This is a short Tom and I made for the CBS Earth Day Special. Early nineties. Full title is Howie Meets the Ghost of Environmental Disasters Yet to Come. Reeves is the Doomsayer, Charles Schneider is the Ghost. Was the last time I donned Howie’s glasses and bow tie. sniff sniff…
Tom and I made this very odd short for the Playboy Channel many many moons ago. A funny couple pieces of trivia:
-The always fab Lee Arenberg is ‘Larry the head’.
-This was a (very) early gig for Oscar winning DP Wally Pfister, later of Dark Knight and Inception fame. Pfister reminded me that we worked together on this ignominious project when I saw him on the Moneyball set a few months ago. (though it’s Stern shooting with the wind-up Bolex in the screenshot below, so go figure…)

It’s back on, and they added Freaked so you can double your fun!
Okay clearly I have way too much time on my hands tonight, but this is funny as hell.
The screening is still happening. And I will do a Q&A via iChat, tho I can’t make it there now due to the crummy weather. The good news is that iChat will allow me to share the Ford commercial I made with Jason Statham as a cheesy german dj, many years ago, in honor of his recent taking up of the Bronson mantle.
