I directed this short about journalist and activist Barret Brown being released from prison after four years. The piece was commissioned by Field of Vision, the documentary unit created by Laura Poitras, AJ Schnack and Charlotte Cook. It was an honor to work with these brilliant people and to have the access to Barrett and his family.
I was unable to attend due to a family situation but Lyn Ulbricht let me know we screened to a standing room only audience of over two-thousand people. Amazing! More info here
So grateful to have Deep Web nominated for best TV documentary at the Cinema Eye Honors! We were among some of the biggest names in docs. Such a thrill to be there with fellow producers Marc Schiller and Glen Zipper (pictured), and the awesome Jill Burkhart from Epix.
Had a great time showing several of my films at the wonderful St. Louis International Film Festival, and picking up this award.
